The driving force behind iSettle is Evelyn Bos, Certified Professional Coach and MSc in Educational Science and Technology. Immigrated to New Zealand in 2006 from The Netherlands, and currently residing in Wellington. I have a background in Educational Science & Technology (Msc) and have worked for over 12 years in the Education and Training sector, in the roles of learning and development advisor, project manager, teacher trainer, and educational technologist. These roles have given me valuable experience in supporting adults gaining new competencies by establishing a non-threatening learning environment as well as experience in training design and delivery, working in complex organisations, working with new technologies, project management, project coordination, and much more. After immigrating to New Zealand in 2006 I started a career in a rural area as a real estate salesperson, something completely different for me! I absolutely enjoyed the lifestyle and having my own business. However, as the commute from the Wairarapa to Wellington became too energy-consuming, we moved back to the city, where I started to work in the field of Education again. Somehow coaching came on my path – I had that dream of making professional development work and the desire of making a difference in someone's life, which I felt was not what I was doing by then. I started training as a coach with the International Coach Academy and what really blew me away was the power a coaching programme actually has. It has everything that conventional training doesn't have: coaching at its best is focused on authentic aspects of one's personal or professional life that require attention (in the eyes of the beholder), takes place on a continuous basis and provides accountability, which supports the translation of the newly developed insights into action and successful implementation. I realised that my qualifications, experience and personality all together form an optimal mix to coach people towards success in their personal and professional lifes, and to work with organisations on innovative learning solutions. Although I am currently in full-time employment with New Zealand Police I welcome enquiries from individuals who would like to explore the opportunities of coaching, and organisations who want to share their thinking around learning and development.
